Music Series Showcases Local Performers at The MAIN

NEWHALL, Calif. – Enjoy an intimate evening of live music with one of the nation’s brightest up-and-comers at the next “LOCALS ONLY!” show! American singer-songwriter Sara Niemietz will visit The MAIN (24266 Main Street) for a special one-night-only performance on Friday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m.

Niemietz is a musician and actress based in Los Angeles and has performed on Broadway, as well as at Radio City Music Hall and the Grand Ole Opry. She has toured in over 30 countries, and her popular YouTube channel has surpassed 30 million views. Niemietz’s music videos caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres, earning her an invitation to perform on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and share her gift with the world.

“LOCALS ONLY!” is a music series held every other month at The MAIN that features bands and performers from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. November’s show will spotlight Niemietz’s music, which speaks to vulnerability, empowerment and shaking off the past.

Music Series Features Local Performers at The MAIN.

Live music performed in an intimate setting is an experience unlike any other, especially when the musicians are your friends and neighbors! Residents are invited to purchase tickets for the upcoming “LOCALS ONLY!” show, taking place Friday, July 1, at 7:00 p.m. at The MAIN (24266 Main Street).

            “LOCALS ONLY!” is a music series held every other month at The MAIN that features bands from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. July’s show showcases some of Santa Clarita’s talented Psych Rock bands, featuring powerful guitar chords, heavy drums and – most importantly – volume.

            “LOCALS ONLY!” in July features IPSOFAKTO, PLEXE and Midnight Bandit. General admission tickets are $12 each and seating is extremely limited.

The MAIN in Old Town Newhall presents “Through Our Eyes: The Art of Contemporary Native America exhibit on November 4, 2021.

Native American Art Exhibit featured in The MAIN’s lobby, followed by a Special “10 by 10” Variety Night. The Art Reception and Variety Night events are free and open to all ages.

Santa Clarita, Calif. – The MAIN in Old Town Newhall will celebrate Native American culture on Thursday, November 4, during the “Through Our Eyes: The Art of Contemporary Native America” Art Reception and “10 by 10” Variety Night. The art reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by “10 by 10” Variety Night at 7:00 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to stroll through the art exhibit featured in The MAIN’s lobby, chat with featured artists and enjoy an all Native American “10 by 10” Variety Night during the event. The Art Reception and Variety Night events are free and open to all ages.

“Through Our Eyes: The Art of Contemporary Native America” features six Native artists, including Peggy Fontenot, Nadia Reed, Nadiya Little Warrior, Corina Roberts, Matthew White Bear McMasters and Corey Stein. The artwork is presented in a variety of mediums ranging from photography to sculpture, painting and more. Through the use of diverse materials and techniques, these artists create works of art that are fun, thought-provoking, interesting and beautiful.

From the art gallery to the stage, the “10 by 10” Variety Night will continue immersing attendees into Native American culture. The show will feature ten Native American performers, each with a ten-minute performance of their choosing. Some of the acts include Grass Dancing by the McMaster’s Dancers, comedy by touring comedian Cat Alvarado and music from Carlos Reynosa.

The MAIN’s Tasty Series is Back with a New Episode on Thursday, February 25.

 Love is in the air and so is the smell of delicious food for this romance-themed episode of The MAIN’s virtual series, “FOOD SESSIONS.” “FOOD SESSIONS” returns with another mouthwatering episode this Thursday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m.

Valentine’s Day may be over, but love (and a love for food) endures! Tune in as “FOOD SESSIONS” welcomes the Santa Clarita community into the kitchens of local chefs and community members, where they share recipes, tips, family stories and more. The February 25 episode will feature Chef Tamra Levine (Director of Catering for Salt Creek Grille Catering, Owner of Heritage Lane Productions), Todd R. Wilson (CEO and Co-Founder of feedSCV), Alexis Shahin (Former Pastry Chef, Yoga and Meditation Specialist) and “Hometown Highlight” Chef Sabina Fetter (American Culinary Federation Certified Culinarian).


No two episodes of “FOOD SESSIONS” are alike, so residents should tune in every fourth Thursday of the month to learn new recipes and tricks from a diverse group of cooking talents in our community.
