The group’s founder and leader, Adam Shapiro, has a lifelong connection with Billy Joel and his music. Much like the legendary artist himself, his late father was also a New York-based pianist and singer. As Adam notes, “performing as Billy Joel is a way of honoring my father’s legacy through music.”
Adam himself was no stranger to the limelight before focusing on this project. He spent the last 25 years performing with some heavy hitters in the music industry, including Huey Lewis & The News, Kool & The Gang, as well as the king of funk, James Brown. He teamed up with some of the best musicians in Southern California to create this one-of-a-kind tribute act.
