Galvanizing artists across genres and generations, Flash Gordon served as inspiration for Star Wars and has had an indelible impact on pop culture in the past eight decades. To be sold on the same day with Flash Gordon #1 are three other Alex Raymond artworks, including Jungle Jim #1 – the monumental origin and first appearance of Raymond’s answer to Tarzan and companion “topper” to his iconic Flash Gordon comic strip – both launched simultaneously on January 7, 1934.
