SANTA CLARITA, Calif., – Sam’s Club is helping The Salvation Army of California get a jump start on the holidays with a donation that’s wrapped into a magical holiday moment for Santa Clarita area residents.
“Merry-ville” is a free event will include an ice rink, holiday-inspired chalets with interactive elements for kids and families, a virtual Santa experience, a holiday food truck, and much more.
A wishing tree will serve as a centerpiece for the event, giving families the opportunity to give the gift of hope this season by adopting children and families through the Angel Tree program. Sam’s Club is jumpstarting the program with a $10,000 donation to help local families at an invitation-only event on Thursday, Nov. 4.
For more 40 years, Sam’s Club and Walmart have worked together with the Salvation Army to meet the needs of people struggling in local communities across the U.S. This partnership has resulted in the giving of millions of dollars and in-kind product during times of disaster, as well as fundraising opportunities during the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle and Angel Tree holiday campaigns.
Join Santa Claus, Sam’s Club and the Salvation Army on Thursday evening for a special media preview of Merry-ville! Ring in the holiday season this weekend in Santa Clarita with the Merry-ville holiday spectacular. Merry-ville will tour the country, setting up a huge Christmas installation in Sam’s Club parking lots (including an ICE RINK). The five-week tour will kick off on Friday, November 5th in Santa Clarita, California then travel to Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia. Santa Clarita is the only stop on the west coast selected to host this inaugural event!
Thursday evening will feature dazzling ice skating performances, snow flurries, a human claw game, a virtual Santa experience, holiday inspired chalets and so much more!
