Newhall, Calif. – Governor Jerry Brown visited Santa Clarita on April 21 Brown met with educators and law enforcement officials from the Los Angeles area to discuss how the budget crisis is affecting schools and public safety. Attendance at the meeting was by invitation only.

Brown was accompanied by Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, who was the first Republican legislator to join Brown as he toured the state to talk to the public about extending certain taxes to avert further budget cuts.
Gov. Brown fielded questions from educators and political attendees alike. Taking a walking tour of the school, Brown visited students in the classrooms, fielding questions and touching on his role as Governor.
