Los Angeles, Calif. – The LA Art show is thrilled to present a special Summer Edition next week, July 29th – August 1st. In the show’s 26th year, the LA Art Show remains one of the most popular art shows with 65k visitors per year. Under the new direction of Kassandra Voyagis and returning curator Marisa Caichiolo, the show has pivoted with a hard focus on what’s now, taking a closer look at some of the latest technological trends in the art world, while still offering a traditional lens for art from around the globe.
The Future Is Here
After 25 years of traditional programming, the LA Art Show is taking a big leap into the world of tech! Although the more conventional elements of the show will remain, LAAS is leading the pack by integrating some of the latest trends in the art world.
Vellum LA, the first physical gallery for NFT-backed digital art in Los Angeles opens on Melrose Ave in September, and is presenting a world first major art fair NFT exhibition at the LA Art Show.
Titled Sea Change, the exhibit was created with top NFT marketplace SuperRare (also an official partner of the fair, their first), and curated by Nxt Museum curator Jesse Damiani with Vellum LA curator Sinziana Velicescu.
n order to supply the most comprehensive and accessible NFT introduction, the show has partnered with SuperRare as official marketplace partner, meaning patrons will be able to purchase the work immediately at the fair with the help of experts, removing anxiety surrounding the new kind of transaction. It will also be the first public appearance of StandardVision newest product, Luma Canvas, a museum-grade display designed for showcasing NFTs and digital art.
Sea Change will feature the works of 12 new media artists, whose work embraces our inevitable technological immersion, exploring the new language, materiality, and logic of the metaverse.
One of the most highly-anticipated traditional elements of the show is getting an upgrade as well, with the return of DIVERSEartLA. This important part of the fair, curated by Marisa Caichiolo, leads with a focus on the presence, contributions, research and documentation of women artists at the forefront of work at the intersection of art, science and technology represented by guest Museums and Institutions.
Continuing the theme of juxtaposing old and new, this fan-favorite section will expand upon previous years into new, more interactive and technological ground:
San Marcos Museum of Art (MASM)from Lima, Perú, which will bring a new media project by Peruvian artist Angie Bonino. “THE SYMPHONY OF NOW,” consists of a video installation, and interactive sound installation focusing on the Andean techno de-colonial shamanism.
Museum La Neomudejar from Madrid is bringing _DATA | ergo sum RELOADED by artist Ana Marcos, an interactive art installation that visualizes the capability of viewing machines using artificial intelligence to extract data by a simple observation of visitors.
Art Museum of the Americas (AMA) has joined with a special project curated by Fabian Goncálves, that will feature a compilation of material and an exhibition of the work of women artists who have played a central role in the development of new media practices throughout history.
Now Art LA and Building Bridges Art Exchange have joined forces as local non-profit organizations to exhibit the work Agua by Luciana Abait, a video projection created as part of LUMINEX Project by Now Art LA. This work is inspired by the flood-myth motif that occurs in many cultures, in which water acts a healing and rebirth tool, often referencing ideas of creation, purification, and sustaining life. The projected FLOOD will run down the main aisle of the LA Art Show
The most unconventional and anticipated contribution to the section is Tiffany Trenda, a multidisciplinary performance artist, known for exploring the relationship of the female body to today’s ever-changing technologies.
While we won’t have as many international galleries, we have managed to bring together a fantastic roster of galleries that celebrate the experimental vibe that is LA.
2021 brings NEW legendary LA galleries: Track-16 (first fair) and Coagula Curatorial. Plus 14 year-old wonder kid and LA native, Tex Hammond exhibits at his first fair under Acosta Arts.

The show will once again continue their international presence with the Pigment Gallery returning from Spain, In The Gallery returning from Denmark, Gallery KITAI from Japan, and exploring new territory, the Spaceless Gallery based in Paris.
In planning this standout return to in-person programming, the LAAS will not only continue its six year partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® but expand their collaborative mission, with the LA Art Show donating 15% of not only opening night tickets, but all ticket proceeds this year to its life saving mission.
Citibank is also returning with Virtual Gallerist Talks, a series of in-person and live-streaming events and discussions highlighting some of the LA Art Show’s most popular galleries. In a coordinated effort, there will be both an in-person presence and a virtual experience, focusing on five selected galleries. This series gives viewers an in-depth look at the curation of each show, with spirited dialogue about each piece.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (July 16, 2021) – “To all who come to this happy place, welcome! Disneyland is your land.” When Walt Disney opened the gates to Disneyland Park on July 17, 1955, those were the words he chose to dedicate it as a source of joy and inspiration for all the world. Continuing as that happy place more than six decades later, the Disneyland Resort is celebrating 66 years as it welcomes guests back to the magic once again. Nearly all attractions and restaurants plus all three Disneyland Resort hotels are now open, and Disneyland park will present performances of Mickey’s Mix Magic with fireworks.*
Fans of ÒMickeyÕs PhilharMagicÓ will be tapping to a new song with the debut of an animated scene based on Disney and PixarÕs ÒCoco.Ó The musical number ÒUn Poco LocoÓ will anchor the new scene when it opens to guests at Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Paris on July 17, before being added to Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort later this year during the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration. The filmÕs fun, upbeat music and characters combined with the humor of Donald Duck marks the first time Disney and Pixar animators have worked on a creative endeavor where characters from both animation studios will be seen together on screen. (Disney Parks)
On the July 17 anniversary, Disneyland park guests will be treated to a brief celebratory cavalcade featuring the Disneyland Band, characters, Disneyland Resort Ambassador and more! Guests can also purchase limited-time anniversary-themed caramel apples at Pooh Corner and Candy Palace and celebratory cupcakes at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café in Disneyland.

Celebrating 66 Years of Magic at Disneyland Resort parks
With the recent reopening of the parks, guests are returning to join the summertime excitement and create new magical memories.
New this summer, Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure is bringing together Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for the common good, and they are calling all recruits to join the action. Guests can team up with the Avengers and their allies, sling webs with Spider-Man, taste-test inventive food and drinks and become part of a bigger universe.
In Disneyland, three opening-day attractions were recently reimagined: Jungle Cruise, Snow White’s Enchanted Wish, and King Arthur Carrousel. These popular attractions received thoughtful updates from Walt Disney Imagineering that include revised décor and artfully enhanced storylines. Over at the Jungle Cruise, guests are now discovering brand new scenes with new characters as they explore remote rivers across the globe. While the world-famous skippers continue their unique presentations with witty interactions that guests expect, a trapped safari party finds itself up a tree and chimpanzees have overtaken their boat. “Gnu” humor makes it clear that the jungle and the animals get the last laugh on this classic attraction.
This summer, guests are invited to enjoy the return of the “Mickey’s Mix Magic” spectacular that will light up the nights with state-of-the-art projections and lasers turning Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle and the façade of “it’s a small world” into a dazzling display of sights, upbeat music and a kaleidoscope of colors. And if that wasn’t magical enough, fireworks will add a pinch more pixie dust to the occasion.*
