The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Brings An All-New Light Projection Experience to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort

A Powerful Dark Arts Spell Has Been Cast on “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” Bringing a Dynamic, All-New Light Projection Experience to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.

Universal City, CA; Orlando, Fla.,Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort invite guests to experience an exciting new dimension of sorcery at “The Wizarding World of Harry PotterTM” with the introduction of the “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle,” a powerful, original and breathtaking projection experience.

“Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle,” a dynamic, all-new light projection experience, comes to “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.

The “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” will illuminate Hogwarts castle and “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” nightly from April 13 – 28 at Universal Studios Hollywood then return from May 25 – 27.

Universal Orlando Resort’s experience will debut later this year with dates to be announced at a later time.

This exciting all-new experience in “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will cast a mesmerizing display of light, music and special effects, unleashing the darkest creatures and villains, including the powerful Dark wizard Lord Voldemort.

Illuminating a darker side of the Wizarding World, this spectacular new light projection experience will be a departure from previous “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” and “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.” “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” will bring more intense tones and drama that reflect the Dark creatures and wizards that challenge goodness in the Wizarding World.

Guests will be asked to summon their inner strength and bravery in the face of the all-consuming Dark Arts as some of the awe-inspiring moments and creatures inspired by the films come to life within the majestic light display.

As darkness falls on Hogwarts castle, Dementors™, Death Eaters and other unspeakable creatures from Aragog and Mountain Trollsto Thestrals will cloak the castle with sinister images from the darker side of magic—even conjuring the visage of Lord Voldemort™ himself, until the Patronus spell—one of the most famous, difficult and powerful defense of the Dark Arts charms in the wizarding world—is cast.

The “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” will be accompanied by an exclusive musical arrangement that will emanate in a surround sound environment. It was conducted by prolific arranger William Ross and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra in London, based on the original scores composed for the film series created by Academy Award®-winning composer John Williams.

Inspired by J.K. Rowling’s compelling stories and characters that were brought to life in the Warner Bros. films, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort is a masterful recreation, faithful to the visual landscape of the fiction and films, including as its iconic focal point, Hogwarts castle.

From its snow-capped roofs and cobblestone streets to the historic British sensibilities that characterize the whimsical look and feel of the land, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” transports guests of all ages to the very places they watched on the silver screen.

With so much to see and do at Universal Studios Hollywood, the all-new 2019 Season Pass invites guests to experience the funthroughout the year for $149 when purchased online. Blackout dates and restrictions apply. Visit www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com for more details.

Grand Ole Opry Audience Erupts as Tony Jackson Makes his Debut.

Nashville, TN – The scene at the Grand Ole Opry Saturday February 23rd was electric as ground-floor advocate, Whisperin’ Bill Anderson, presented Tony Jackson to the packed house in Nashville, TN.

“Playing at the Grand Ole Opry has been a dream come true,” begins Jackson.  “It was every bit the most amazing experience I thought it would be. Long live country music,” he declared.

Jackson performed the Bill Anderson-penned, “They Lived It Up” and “The Grand Tour” for his portion of the show. When he delivered the final line of “The Grand Tour,” the audience erupted and leapt to their feet, as the former two-term, active-duty U.S. Marine stood visibly emotional and humbled within the hallowed Grand Ole Opry circle at center stage. As he attempted to leave the stage, Bill Anderson graciously welcomed Jackson back to the mic to savor the crescendo from country music’s true believers.

To date, Tony Jackson’s Facebook views exceed 63 million with over 1.2 million shares.

Tony Jackson is currently touring in support of his new single, “Country Road,” from his forthcoming spring 2019 E.P. release on DDS Entertainment/SONY – Orchard.

CITY OF SANTA CLARITA TO OFFER NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SPOTTER TRAINING.

Join Over 100 Spotters in the Santa Clarita Valley to Help Report Local Weather Conditions

Santa Clarita, Calif. – Across the Santa Clarita Valley, there are over 100 Weather Service Storm Spotters that voluntarily call into the National Weather Service to report severe weather situations. The reports submitted by these Spotters improve the accuracy of the National Weather Service’s local weather forecasts and warnings.  Those interested in becoming a Storm Spotter can attend a free training, hosted by the City of Santa Clarita in partnership with the National Weather Service, on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard.

The City has partnered with the National Weather Service to provide free training for the last 18 years. The Storm Spotter Program is an initiative set up by the National Weather Service to enlist local volunteers to help report severe weather situations. Storm Spotters are instructed to call in a report to the National Weather Service office in Oxnard when severe weather occurs. Those reports are then used to improve the local weather forecasts and warnings that the National Weather Service sends out.

Attendees at the 90-minute training session will receive background information about the National Weather Service, learn about different severe weather hazards and ask any questions they may have.  Personal weather equipment is not required to become an official Storm Spotter. Newly trained Spotters will receive a personal Spotter identification number, and a packet including Spotter instructions.

For more information about the Storm Spotter training, please contact Joe Sirard at joe.sirard@noaa.gov or visit santa-clarita.com/Emergency.

NEW WALK OF WESTERN STARS INDUCTEES, JAMES DRURY, ROBERT FULLER and DAN WHITE, TO BE UNVEILED AS PART OF 2019 SANTA CLARITA COWBOY FESTIVAL.

Santa Clarita, Calif. – The City of Santa Clarita invites community members to attend the unveiling of the newest inductees on the Walk of Western Stars on Thursday, April 11, at 5:00 p.m. The event will officially kick off the 26th Annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, presented by California Resources Corporation, which opens its doors to the public at William S. Hart Park in Old Town Newhall on April 13 and 14. The unveiling will take place on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, and free parking will be available in the public lot on the corner of Ninth Street and Railroad Avenue.

The 2019 inductees include Western actors James Drury, Robert Fuller and Dan White. Since 1981, the City has honored Western television, radio and film stars, and the newest inductees will join them with their own bronze stars.

James Drury, who is best known for his starring role in the television series “The Virginian,” began his acting career in 1954. He started out with small parts, and eventually made his way to roles in Western films such as “Love Me Tender” and “The Last Wagon,” as well as television series including “Gunsmoke” and “Rifleman.” His distinctive voice has been featured in various documentaries and audio books as well.

Robert Fuller’s career spanned five decades and included many guest roles on Western television shows. He starred in his better known roles as Jess Harper on the television series “Laramie,” and as Cooper Smith on “Wagon Train” before retiring in the 1990s.

Dan White grew up in Florida, but moved his family to California to pursue his acting career. White lived in Hollywood and Newhall during most of his career, and was inspired to pursue a career in Western films by local Santa Clarita hero William S. Hart. Out of the 345 film and television shows White appeared in, 264 were of the Western genre.

Community members are invited to further celebrate the newest inductees at the Walk of Western Stars Induction Ceremony at 6:00 p.m., following the unveiling. The Induction Ceremony will be held at Hart Hall inside William S. Hart Park and will include dinner, a montage of the inductees’ work and a Q&A session. Tickets for the Induction Ceremony are available for purchase at cowboyfestival.org for $60. Seating is assigned, with doors opening at 5:45 p.m.
