25TH ANNUAL CHILDREN�S FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS TO BE HELD AUGUST 8TH AT PARAMOUNT PICTURES
Hollywood, Calif. – The Hollywood Arts Council�s 25th Annual Children�s Festival of the Arts will be held Sunday, August 8th from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Pictures Studio, 5555 Melrose Ave.
This Free Children�s Festival is a day-long celebration of the arts and culture in Hollywood. The festivities will include a full schedule of performances featuring a variety of music and dance from around the world to entertain the entire family.
Performers include Korean Dancers, Native American dancers from United American Indian Involvement, Jim Gamble�s Marionette Puppets, Folkloric Dance, Russian Entertainment Unlimited, and other surprises.
An assortment of art workshops with professional artists will provide children the opportunity to create their own art pieces to take home, in a variety of styles including Japanese windsocks, artists trading cards, sand mandalas, pet butterflies, puppets, and more! Look for face painters and many other surprises to delight young and young at heart alike.
Food will be available for purchase. The festival is presented by the Hollywood Arts Council and is sponsored in part by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Paramount Pictures, Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council, East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, Discover Hollywood, Wells Fargo, Sunset Gower + Sunset Bronson Studios, Barnsdall Arts, Kaiser Permanente- Los Angeles Medical Center, Los Angeles Children�s Hospital, and Council President Eric Garcetti.
The Hollywood Arts Council is a community-based organization founded in 1978 to promote, nurture, and support the arts in Hollywood. The free annual Children�s
Festival of the Arts is one of many projects and events presented by the Council to enhance the quality of life in the city. The Council�s projects also include Project SOAR
(Students Overcoming All Risks), an after school art program presented in Hollywood area elementary schools. The Hollywood Arts Council�s funders include the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Paramount Pictures, Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation, Bank of America Foundation, The Walt Disney Company, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council, and the Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council.
