‘Hamilton’ in LA: Lin-Manuel Miranda to hold ticket lottery outside Pantages, Fans can line up for the #Ham4Ham ticket lottery starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday August 16.

Hollywood, Calif. – “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will be hosting a special ticket lottery for the musical outside the Pantages Theatre on Wednesday, which is the show’s official opening night in Los Angeles.

Fans can line up for the #Ham4Ham ticket lottery starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Entries will be collected from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. The drawing will be at 1 p.m.

 The special lottery was announced on the official “Hamilton” app.


The Wednesday lottery event will feature several live performances outside the theater.

The lottery winners will get tickets for the front two rows for $10 (cash only). Winners must be present to win and must have a photo ID that matches the name drawn.

There was no word on how many winners will be chosen.

Regularly-priced premium seats can cost you more than $1,700 each.

The #Ham4Ham events are a tradition that started outside of the Richard Rodgers Theatre during Broadway previews, according to the “Hamilton” app.

Another lottery for $10 “Hamilton” tickets was announced last week. To participate in that lottery, you have to enter on the “Hamilton” app or the Pantages’ website.

Two-Time Tony Award® Nominee JOSHUA HENRY, Broadway’s MICHAEL LUWOYE and Tony Award ® Nominee RORY O’MALLEY to lead National Tour of HAMILTON Hollywood, Calif. – The highly anticipated musical, Hamilton will open at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood on Friday August 11.

HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, as told by America now.

Earlier this year, producer Jeffrey Seller announce that two-time Tony Award® nominee JOSHUA HENRY, Broadway’s MICHAEL LUWYOYE and Tony Award® NomineeRORY O’MALLEY will lead the National Tour of HAMILTON as Aaron Burr, Alexander Hamilton and King George III, respectively. Mr. Henry made his Broadway debut in In The Heights, received Tony Award ®nominations for his roles in Violet and The Scottsboro Boys and created the role of “Noble Sissle” in Shuffle Along.  Mr. Luwoye made his Broadway debut in HAMILTON and was nominated for a 2016 Lucille Lortel Award for his work as Jacob in Invisible Thread (Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical).  And, Mr. O’Malley is currently playing King George III on Broadway and received a Tony Award® nomination for his role as Elder McKinley in The Book of Mormon.  Other principal roles in HAMILTON on tour will be played by RUBÉN J. Hollywood, Calif., – Hamilton conceived and written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the man behind musical phenomenon In the Heights, brings the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton to the stage. Seamlessly injecting contemporary music into a historical tale, Hamilton was inspired by the 2004 biography ‘Alexander Hamilton’ by historian Ron Chernow. The musical played a completely sold out Off-Broadway engagement at The Public Theater in February 2015 before transferring to Broadway that summer, opening on August 6, 2015 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. On Broadway, it has received enthusiastic critical acclaim and unprecedented advance box office sales.

Recommended for ages 12 and up due to non-graphic adult situations. Children under the age of 5 are not permitted in the theatre.
