City of Santa Clarita to Hold Smart Gardening Workshops at Local Libraries.

Santa Clarita, Calif. – The City of Santa Clarita is excited to partner with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works to host a series of Smart Gardening Workshops that promote environmentally friendly ways to maintain your garden. Multiple workshops will be held at two local library branches – the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library and the Valencia Library.

For gardeners just starting out, beginner workshops will cover the basic techniques of composting, worm composting, water-wise gardening and grasscycling.

For advanced gardeners with a green thumb, the advanced workshops will include tips on organic gardening, landscaping with native, drought-tolerant plants and integrated pest management.

Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library – 18601 Soledad Canyon Rd

·         Beginner Workshop – Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

·         Advanced Workshop – Saturday, August 24, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Valencia Library – 23743 West Valencia Blvd

·         Advanced Workshop – Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
