Hip Hop Dancing, Margaritaville SENSES and More Make Their Way to Old Town Newhall.
Stay cool in the July heat with the Margaritaville themed SENSES event, hip hop dancing at the Newhall Community Center, live music performances at The MAIN and more! The monthly 10 By 10 Variety Night will take a break in July due to the Fourth of July holiday, but each Thursday night beginning July 11, you can take part in other events that celebrate the arts as part of Thursdays@Newhall in Old Town Newhall. Thursdays@Newhall is an ongoing opportunity for residents of Santa Clarita to attend shows, concerts and special events on Thursdays throughout the year.
The first event of the month will be JAM Sessions on July 11 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Newhall Community Center! Attendees will bust a move with the Gr818ers, a dance organization that uses the power of hip hop to unite communities. This group of world-renown dancers will lead the way with modern hip hop moves to beats spun by DJ Roxswift. JAM Sessionsis hosted in conjunction with the Ford Theatre Foundation,bringing dance and original live performances to Old Town Newhall.
Fully embrace the beach lifestyle this summer and head over to Main Street for the Margaritaville themed SENSES Block Party on July 18 starting at 7:00 p.m. Sit back, relax and enjoy a tropical drink from the on-street bar hosted by Newhall Refinery. While you are there, make sure to catch a wave on the mechanical surfboard!
Also on July 18, The MAIN will host an artist reception for its newest exhibit, “Sotto Voce,” from artist Nicole Fournier. Fournier’s passion for photography can be seen through her unique artistic process where she transfers her photographs directly into a wax medium before adding other colored wax embellishments. Guests attending the free reception will enjoy light refreshments and have an opportunity to meet Fournier from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. “Sotto Voce” will be on display at The MAIN from July 16 to August 9.
The Note by Note music night on July 25 concludes the month’s lineup of events from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The MAIN. Note by Note is a free night of music that delights audiences with a variety of genres. Bands, duos and soloists will perform a wide range of styles, including rock, folk, Celtic, Americana, blues, jazz, country, experimental, western and more!Featured performers in July include Rainy Eyes, Abel Gallardo, Rachel Mazer and duo Echo Spark.
