New York, New York – So Good You’ll Scream! A Shark Week Exhibit at the Paley Center will take visitors deep below the ocean’s surface and into the natural habitat of one of nature’s most misunderstood creatures.

The Paley Center in New York presents an exclusive exhibit from Discovery to feature Jawsome Shareable Shark Moments.

In July 1988, Discovery broadcast a special block of programming dedicated to sharks. Offering new insights into one of nature’s most intriguing predators, these programs included Caged in FearSharks: Predators or PreyThe Shark Takes a Siesta, and Sharks of a Different Color. The week of programming proved so successful that Discovery decided to continue it the following summer, and every summer after, thus Shark Week was born.
Over the years Shark Week continued to grow, eventually adding celebrity hosts starting with Jaws author Peter Benchley in 1994, followed by several others including Nigel Marven, Mike Rowe, Andy Samberg, Craig Ferguson, and most recently Shaquille O’Neal. Today, Shark Week continues to deliver all-new groundbreaking shark stories to seventy-two countries and incorporates innovative research technology to reveal compelling insight on some of the most unique shark species in the world.
The Paley Center for Media is happy to welcome Discovery as it brings the mysteries of the deep to 52nd Street for an exclusive engagement of “jawsome” shareable shark moments.
Your journey through the deep blue begins with special photo opportunities that place you face-to-face with sharks. From there you will enter our main gallery that features a stunning sand-sculpted Shark Week centerpiece and a life-size illustration of 30,000 shark teeth, surrounded by a series of breathtaking photos capturing different species of these majestic creatures. Add your thumbprint to an installation highlighting how each whale shark is unique, before challenging yourself with Shark Week trivia. Finally, sit back in our Bennack Theater to enjoy both new and classic Shark Week programs on the big screen.

Disneyland’s Rise of the Resistance ride to open at Anaheim theme park on January 17, 2020. Rise of the Resistance ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida to open December 5, 2019.

Anaheim, Calif. – The Rise of the Resistance will open at Disneyland theme park in Anaheim theme park on Jan. 17, 2020. The ride in Florida at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open December 5, 2019, Disney officials announced.

Rise of the Resistance was announced as an opening day attraction for the new Star Wars lands at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney postponed the opening of Rise of the Resistance until later in 2019 before Galaxy’s Edge opened to the public at Disneyland on May 31.

Disney guests will traverse the corridors of a Star Destroyer and join an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance – including a faceoff with Kylo Ren – when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens Dec. 5, 2019, at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Jan. 17, 2020, at Disneyland Resort in California. At 14 acres each, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, now open, and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, opening Aug. 29, 2019, is Disney’s largest single-themed land expansion ever. (Disney Parks)

A nearly identical Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge themed land will open at the Florida theme park on Aug. 29 without the Rise of the Resistance attraction. The Rise of the Resistance dark ride will open in Florida on Dec. 5, Disney officials announced.

The ground-breaking new Rise of the Resistance will combine four ride experiences into one. Getting all the pieces of the complex ride to seamlessly flow together have contributed to the delayed opening of the ambitious attraction.

“When it opens, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is described as blurring the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.”

The new ride will put visitors in the middle of a battle between the villainous First Order and the heroic Resistance. Resistance heroes Rey and General Organa will recruit visitors to join the Resistance and fight the First Order in a dangerous off-planet mission.

Along the way, the recruits will be captured aboard a Star Destroyer, break out of a First Order detention cell, elude the clutches of Kylo Ren and escape back to a secret base on the Star Wars planet of Batuu, the setting for the new Galaxy’s Edge lands.

California Adventure’s Pixar Pier marks first anniversary with new Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind attraction, Incredicoaster, Jessie’s Critter Carousel and more.

Guests enter the wonderful worlds of Pixar through a dazzling marquee that leads to four whimsical neighborhoods at this seaside waterfront. The first themed neighborhood is Incredibles Park, inspired by Disney and Pixar’s “The Incredibles” and home to the Incredicoaster, the first ride-through attraction in the world to feature beloved characters from “The Incredibles” franchise. The Incredicoaster takes guests on a super adventure with the Parr family to chase after the elusive baby Jack-Jack, a storyline that will connect with fans of Disney and Pixar’s film, “Incredibles 2.” Music, lighting, special effects, exciting character figures and distinctively colored vehicles add to the thrills on this super-speedy coaster, the fastest attraction at the Disneyland Resort.

Emotional Whirlwind is located in the Inside Out Headquarters neighborhood of Pixar Pier, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary! The reimagined land shares the stories and characters of Pixar films with exciting attractions, themed neighborhoods and fun eateries.

Adjacent to Incredibles Park is Toy Story Boardwalk, a neighborhood with the popular Toy Story Mania! attraction and its 4D carnival games. Along the boardwalk, guests may meet Bo Beep, Woody’s long-lost friend from “Toy Story 4.” On Jessie’s Critter Carousel, guests of all ages may hop aboard a sweet woodland creature inspired by the vintage television show, “Woody’s Roundup” from “Toy Story 2,” and go for a spin.

Inspired by the hit Disney and Pixar film “Inside Out,” Emotional Whirlwind takes you a sense-ational spin while aboard one of eight Memory Movers. Help Riley’s Emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear—sort through memories being collected.

Next to Toy Story Boardwalk is the charming seaside Pixar Promenade, which celebrates a collection of favorite Pixar stories. The iconic Mickey’s Fun Wheel has been transformed to the Pixar Pal-A-Round, taking guests up high to enjoy the beautiful sights of Pixar Pier from 24 freshly-decorated gondolas – each one adorned with a Pixar pal. Pixar Promenade also features the new Games of Pixar Pier, where guests can test their skills and win a prize at colorful pay-for-play game booths: La Luna Star Catcher, Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss, WALL•E Space Race and Bullseye Stallion Stampede. Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff is also in Pixar Promenade, offering delightful confections such as saltwater taffy, rainbow cotton candy and Memory Makers.

Emotional Whirlwind is located in the Inside Out Headquarters neighborhood of Pixar Pier, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary! The reimagined land shares the stories and characters of Pixar films with exciting attractions, themed neighborhoods and fun eateries.

Just past Pixar Promenade is Inside Out Headquarters. Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s film “Inside Out,” this neighborhood features another new family-friendly attraction, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. Guests hop aboard one of eight Memory Movers to help Riley’s emotions – Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear – sort through the memories being collected. To complement the playful atmosphere, Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering to create five music tracks, one for each of Riley’s emotions. Guests may also meet Joy and Sadness near the new Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind attraction.

Fans looking for food and beverage with a side of story will enjoy the Lamplight Lounge, an elegant yet fun gathering place for the entire family near the entrance of Pixar Pier. Lamplight Lounge serves a menu of California casual gastro-pub cuisine that is playfully presented, along with unique signature cocktails. The seaside lounge contains a full bar with picturesque waterfront views of Paradise Bay from both upstairs and downstairs.

Lamplight Lounge celebrates the creativity, inspiration and personalities of the artists and storytellers who have brought Pixar stories to life. Guests will discover the artistic marks that Pixar “regulars” have left throughout the lounge, including concept art, a quick sketch on a coaster, memorabilia and collectible toys of beloved Pixar characters. Along with lunch and dinner, guests are also enjoying brunch on Saturdays and Sundays at Lamplight Lounge. To book reservations, guests may call 714 781-DINE (714 781-3463) or visit

Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums in Incredibles Park features baby Jack-Jack’s favorite treat for guests to enjoy. At Toy Story Boardwalk, guests will sample the fare at Poultry Palace and Señor Buzz Churros. Poultry Palace, which looks like the fun, oversized meal box and juice box featured in the Pixar short, “Toy Story Toon: Small Fry,” offers delicious turkey legs and chicken drumsticks. Señor Buzz Churros offers the quintessential Disneyland Resort treat. Further along the path at Pixar Promenade, guests discover Anger from “Inside Out” at Angry Dogs, a spot where the more Anger burns with rage, the hotter the hot dogs get.

The remaining areas of the original Paradise Pier – including Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumping Jellyfish, Goofy’s Sky School, Golden Zephyr and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure – become a new land called Paradise Gardens Park.
